Laetare Sunday

Veronica Gasowski
Veronica Gasowski ’25 is studying applied psychology with minors in marketing and interdisciplinary Catholic studies. She is involved in many ministry organizations at Boston College including Gratia Plena, the Ignite retreat, and Ever to Excel. Veronica hopes to pursue a master’s degree in counseling or social work at BC.
Third Sunday
“This memory reminds me that even though love doesn’t always cure, it cares. In this Lenten season, Jenny inspires me to have hope and find glimpses of light in the darkness, because even the smallest sign of love can change the world.”
Mary Clare Scalise
Mary Clare Scalise ’23 is studying applied psychology and human development and theology at Boston College. She is from Glencoe, Illinois, and hopes to pursue a career in education or social work. Mary Clare is grateful for and humbled by her BC journey, where she has felt intentionally cared for, uplifted, and supported, especially by the campus ministers. She has participated in Kairos, the Liturgy Arts Group, 4Boston Volunteers, and APPA and served as a resident assistant for first-year students.
Second Sunday
“This tangible manifestation of Jesus’s glory is a reminder to all of us that despite the struggles of our lives—our stresses, tribulations, and limitations—we can look forward to a great and beautiful life in God’s love.”
Frank Wilhelm IV
Frank Wilhelm IV ’24 is studying finance and business analytics with a minor in applied psychology at Boston College. He was born and raised in Somerset, New Jersey, and lives with his wonderful mother and sister. Frank works as research assistant in the Carroll School of Management, serves on the Council for the Christian Life Community, and is treasurer for the BC Knights of Columbus.
First Sunday
“The goal of Lent is to be honest with God in prayer about how I am doing and making time to ask the hard questions that I wrestle with in my faith. Give yourself the time and space to ponder what God is calling you to root out in your life—beyond just ditching the chocolate.”

Fr. Casey C. Beaumier, S.J.
Casey C. Beaumier, S.J., holds a PhD in United States religious history from Boston College and focused his dissertation on the development of Jesuit education in the 20th century.
At the University, he serves as vice president and secretary and directs the Institute for Advanced Jesuit Studies at Boston College. The Institute seeks to deepen understanding and appreciation of the history, spirituality, educational heritage, and pedagogical approach of the Society of Jesus among Jesuits and lay faculty, administrators, and trustees through courses, workshops, publications, and scholarly symposia. As vice president and secretary, Fr. Beaumier serves as a liaison to the Board of Trustees Committee on Nominations and Governance; hosts and coordinates visits of international academic, religious, and political leaders; maintains official University records; and engages in pastoral outreach to students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
Fr. Beaumier teaches undergraduate seniors in the capstone program and graduate students in the Institute's Certificate in Jesuit Studies program.
Fr. Beaumier lives as a chaplain for freshmen in Fenwick Hall, where he serves as mentor and spiritual director for students, seminarians, women religious, and priests.
