As a member of University Advancement, you have the opportunity to join our Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Action Committee (DIBAC). DIBAC promotes an environment that celebrates diversity and practices inclusion in all interactions, decisions, and experiences within UA and beyond.

DIBAC is a grassroots, volunteer-led organization. We meet regularly to discuss topics related to diversity and inclusion and to plan events. We are rooted in our values and strive to embody and practice them in all the work we do!

Our Values

  • We value Diversity and Inclusion as fundamental aspects of our lives as Eagles for others.

  • We value an inclusive environment for all, and we recognize the impact of intersecting systems of power and oppression in our lives.

  • We value diverse opinions and seek input from all to make UA a more authentic and effective workplace.

  • We value lifelong learning for ourselves as individuals and for UA and BC as a whole.

What We Do

  • DIBAC is a grassroots, volunteer-led organization. We meet regularly to discuss topics related to Diversity and Inclusion and to plan events. DIBAC activities include:

  • Planning small group discussions that can take many forms–book clubs, speakers, workshops, heritage celebrations, “table talks,” etc.

  • Curating and sharing resources on Diversity and Inclusion through UA internal communications channels.

  • Building partnerships with BC faculty, staff, departments, and others who can advance our work and understanding.

  • Serving as a resource for UA leadership and colleagues in exploring and resolving Diversity and Inclusion issues.

  • Identifying and promoting strategies to increase the emphasis on diversity across the work of UA, including talent management, alumni engagement, fundraising, communications, and other areas.

  • Creating a welcoming space for UA staff to discuss and address issues of Diversity and Inclusion in our lives.
