Profile

Ingu Hwang's areas of interests are modern Korean history, Cold War diplomacy, and human rights/humanitarianism history. He offers courses on contemporary Korea in the global context, including Divided Korea, Industrialization and Democratization, Human Rights and Democratic Transition, and Colonial and Post-Colonial Korea. He is in the process of finishing his first book Transnational Democratization: Human Rights in South Korea and US Cold War Policy (under contact with University of Pennsylvania Press, Human Rights Series).
