Monsignor Liam Bergin is an Irish priest who has taught theology at Boston College since 2011.  Previously he taught at the Gregorian University in Rome where he earned his doctorate in 1997. He was rector of the Pontifical Irish College from 2001-2011. During his 24 years in Rome he has commented widely on international church affairs on the BBC, RTE, Sky TV and others. Recent publications address sacraments as prophetic actions, Eucharist and the formation of a community committed to justice, sacraments and art, and the recent controversy surrounding the English translations of texts for worship.
