Resident Assistants (RA) are full-time students who live in the residence halls and are responsible for a community of residents. They provide support, act as a resource for students, coordinate social and educational programs, and work together as a staff to enforce University policy within the halls.

A successful candidate for a Resident Assistant (RA) position at Boston College will be open minded and enjoy working with diverse groups of people. Candidates will be organized, responsible, and able to make good, ethical decisions. Candidates must demonstrate leadership, interpersonal skills, and a commitment to diversity. We welcome all students with various backgrounds, experiences, and talents to apply!

The Office of Residential Life hires many student employees, both undergraduate and graduate, throughout the entire year for various jobs, both in the halls and in our main office. Interviews are held on a rolling basis until all positions are filled. There are a limited number of positions, so we urge you to apply early. Academic-year positions are typically filled by September 15; however, sometimes we need to fill vacancies, so feel free to apply.

Staff are selected based upon a number of characteristics such as availability and previous experience. Please note: The application process for Summer Staff begins in February and requires a different application. We will contact you via email if you have been invited to participate in the interview process.

Summer Student Employees

The Boston College Office of Residential Life and Facilities Services offer a number of exciting full-time and part-time positions between the months of May and September. Applications for the 2018 Summer Staff will be available online beginning February, 2018. We urge you to read through both the position descriptions and contracts to determine which is best suited for you.
