Part-Time Faculty

Biography

Mayté Antelo-Ovando, EdM, MS, CAGS, is a complex human whose favorite pastimes are truly connecting with people, singing, seeing live music, and living in New England (though she is originally from Austin, TX). She is an experienced and passionate clinician, educator, and consultant- providing psychological assessment, training, and support services to children, adults, and organizations, via Antelo-Ovando Psych Consultants.

She has been a practicing bilingual (English/Spanish) school psychologist for 17 years. Using senior leadership experience she obtained while working in a Boston-area nonprofit dedicated to ending homelessness, she now partners with organizations to facilitate transformational systems change (via assessment and strategic planning), including implementation of self-care, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and racially equitable practices.

She is currently a Racial Equity Partners Associate, engaging in assessment, strategic planning, training, and coaching- that centers racial equity, and awareness of self and others. She also serves as a part-time faculty member at Unity Environmental University and at the Boston College School of Social Work in the Latinx Leadership Initiative.

Lastly, she is a certified positive psychology practitioner, a music journalist, and the daughter of Bolivian parents, who raised her to see the worthiness in all people.
