Chenxu Gao is a Learning Designer at the Boston College Center for Digital Innovation and Learning. Previously, she supported the design of the Online Education Leadership Programs and the graduate-level course How People Learn at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. During her time there, she also served as a researcher and learning designer at the Next Level Lab, contributing to professional learning resources on cognitive science for workplace professionals and educators. Her research explores how learning design can help students leverage their emotions to enhance learning. Beyond higher education, she has worked with EdTech companies to improve online learning engagement through formative data analysis and evaluation.

In addition to her research and design work, Chenxu is an accessibility specialist and a certified practitioner for learners with special needs. She is passionate about applying learning science and inclusive design thinking to create resources that empower learners and organizations to achieve their goals. 

Chenxu holds an Ed.M. in Human Development and Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a B.Sc. in Psychology with Education from University College London. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time in nature, attending film festivals, discovering good bakeries, and sharing quality time with family and friends.
