For Faculty and Staff

The mission of the Boston College Office of Technology Transfer and Licensing (OTTL) is to assist faculty and student in moving innovative technologies from the university to general public.   OTTL is responsible for managing all university intellectual properties including, but not limited to the patent and the copyright. We help university employees identify potential innovations and their commercial potential.

All Boston College full time, part time, and temporary faculty members, postdocs, graduate students, and staff members are required to report any innovation made as part of university employment through submitting invention disclosure forms to OTTL.

Once receiving the invention disclosure form, OTTL conducts invention assessment, potential intellectual property protection and manages the commercialization process of university intellectual properties. Throughout the process, OTTL may administer following agreements on behalf of Boston College with the third parties.

  • Confidentiality Agreements
  • Material Transfer Agreements
  • Consulting Agreements
  • License Agreements
  • Industry Service Contracts Agreement
