Scientific Instrumentation & Machining Services

SIMS is a service department in the College of Arts and Sciences, set up to assist science department researchers and academic laboratories in solving scientific equipment problems. Clients are only required to pay for parts and materials unique to their projects.

The SIMS machine shop and electronics lab are located in Higgins 055.

  • Equipment repair, modification, maintenance, and calibration
  • Small scale designs and prototypes
  • New equipment consultation and vendor liaison
