2017 Retreat

The Biology department returned to The Connors Center in Dover, Massachusetts for its 2017 annual scientific retreat. This year, the program featured two guest speakers. Dr. Ken Burch from the Boston College Physics Department presented a talk entitled “Emergence and Sensing with 2D Materials.” Dr. Vincent Racaniello of the Department of Microbiology & Immunology at Columbia University also spoke about his second passion, his virology blog, and took us on a journey through the dynamics of communicating science.

The group was able to step away from scientific talks and our poster session to catch a glimpse of the Solar Eclipse. The first day’s activities wrapped up with a friendly competition of Pub Quiz.
