Lauren Sanchez Gilbert, Ed.D. ’12 (Educational Leadership), was appointed chief executive officer of Building Educators for Life, a Massachusetts-based nonprofit. 

Sean Guthrie ’01, M.Ed. ’14 (Curriculum and Instruction), is the new principal of the Young Achievers Science and Math Pilot School. Guthrie is a former Donovan Scholar and member of the Lynch Leadership Academy cohort.

Paul J. McLoughlin, Ph.D. ’11 (Higher Education Administration), was named vice president and dean of the college at Colgate University.

Amie Patchen, Ph.D. ’17 (Curriculum and Instruction), Lin Zhang, Ph.D. ’14 (Curriculum and Instruction), and Professor G. Michael Barnett co-authored “Growing Plants and Scientists: Fostering Positive Attitudes toward Science among All Participants in an Afterschool Hydroponics Program” in the Journal of Science Education and Technology.

Jessica Pesce, Ph.D. ’15 (Higher Education), was named associate dean for faculty affairs at the Harvard University Graduate School of Education.

Evan Schinell, M.A. ’10 (Mental Health Counseling), is president-elect of the Massachusetts Mental Health Counselors Association.

Jill Toner ’17 (Applied Psychology and Human Development) is one of 20 members of Boston College’s Class of 2017 to enlist in the Teach for America corps. Toner, who received the Lynch School’s Award for Academic Excellence, is a fifth-grade English teacher in an Oklahoma City school.
