Students Graduating in May
- Email, BC Google account, Agora Portal, BC Zoom, Microsoft Office 365, network access, and all other BC services will be available until 180 days after commencement (November 29, 2022). After November 29, 2022, your BC Google account (including your BC email) will be deleted and all other BC services will no longer be accessible. Note: You will receive an email reminder one month before you lose access.
- Library privileges for borrowing materials end on Graduation Day; thereafter, graduates can sign up for an Alumni Library Card to check out items.
- Your Eagle ID card will be deactivated the day after commencement.
Uninstall software you acquired through BC
Some of the software you installed on your computer was installed under student licensing agreements, administered by the University. Since you are no longer a student, you should now remove Microsoft Office 2019 or 2016 software (Mac & Windows) from your computer in accordance with the respective manufacturer’s terms and conditions.
Please update your contact information to make sure your connection with Boston College remains current.

After April 1st of the following year, your BC Google account (including your BC email) will be deleted and all other BC services will no longer be accessible. Student Employees
You can transfer file ownership of any Google Drive content you created in the context of your employment.
Faculty & Staff
- Your status becomes inactive, which occurs on the date established for your termination in the Human Resources Information system.
- Email, BC Google account, Agora Portal, network access, and all other BC services for faculty and staff expire thereafter on a schedule established by ITS (Information Technology Services). The schedule is subject to change but presently is run seven times a year. In most cases an employee/faculty member will receive a notice informing them that their email account is about to expire. Some departments have established a business practice of requesting that access and email accounts expire when the employee/faculty member leaves the University.
- You must uninstall Sophos, Microsoft Office, and Acrobat Pro, if any of these titles were downloaded from Boston College onto your personal computer.
- Do others need access to your Google files? Transfer file ownership of any Google Drive content you created.
- Do others need access to your Windows files? Transfer ownership of any Windows shares. Talk to your TC about how to do this.
- Set an auto reply on your BC Gmail account to let people know your last day and where to direct inquiries to.
- If appropriate, forward your BC Gmail account to the staff member who will be taking over your duties.
- Return BC-owned devices (computers, mobile devices, flash drives, etc.) to your supervisor.
