Chris R. Glass, Ph.D. is a Professor of the Practice in the Department of Educational Leadership and Higher Education at Boston College, where he leads the Executive Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Higher Education program
His research analyzes and advances the intersection of international higher education, global student mobility, and the profound impact of emerging technologies on the future of learning. His expertise spans internationalization, geopolitics, and cross-border mobility—including both physical and virtual exchange—with a focus on how knowledge, talent, and mobility flows are being reimagined by technological change in a complex, multipolar world.
His research has been published in Higher Education, Studies in Higher Education, Higher Education Research and Development, Journal of Studies in International Education, Compare, Higher Education Quarterly, International Journal of Intercultural Relations, International Journal of Educational Development, and other leading journals.
His insights have been featured in The New York Times, The Economist, The Washington Post, Foreign Policy, the BBC, NPR Marketplace, The Chronicle of Higher Education, and Inside Higher Ed, among others. He has served on the ASHE Presidential Commission on Artificial Intelligence, a UNESCO HESI AG working group for the Futures of Higher Education, and Boston College’s Steering Committee on Artificial Intelligence.
