The following student checklists have been compiled for the convenience of new and returning students. Students should review the items relevant to their cohort before the start of each semester.

First-year undergraduate students and transfer undergraduate students, in particular, should access the linked resources below before arriving on campus. For additional information about orientation or advising, contact the Office of First Year Experience or the Academic Advising Center, respectively.

Pre-August Checklist

  1. Upload your photograph for your Eagle One Card
  2. Update your addresses, phone numbers, and emergency contacts
  3. Set your Privacy Preferences
  4. View or update your race/ethnicity information
  5. Sign up for a payment plan (if applicable)
  6. Authorize your Third-Party Payer(s) through My Bill
    Note: You will need to log into bc.edu/myservices and select My Bill for this service
  7. Waive the mandatory Medical Insurance, if applicable. Visit bc.edu/myservices, and select "Medical Insurance Waiver" under the "Account and Personal Info" section. The waiver will be available by mid-June.
  8. Check the status of your financial aid application
  9. Complete the mandatory Health History and Immunization Forms
  10. Review/Add Optional Eagle One accounts
  11. Review the Title IV Federal Financial Aid Funds requirements and submit your Federal Funds Authorization
  12. Please be sure to review the University Catalog for important information regarding the University's Policies and Procedures.
  13. Enroll in direct deposit for student account refunds (if applicable). We recommend that all students use direct deposit when requesting refunds. Refunds processed via direct deposit are faster and do not require pickup. Visit the Billing page for instructions and more information.

  13. Request enrollment certification letter
    If you need an enrollment certification for deferment of a student loan, mail the forms to the Office of Student Services, Lyons Hall, Chestnut Hill, MA 02467 or stop by Lyons Hall. Your deferment form will be forwarded to the National Student Clearinghouse. If the enrollment certification does not require an official school seal or signature, you may process the certification through bc.edu/myservices.
  14. Final Transcripts
    If you have not already done so, have your under/graduate institution(s) send your final official transcript(s) to the Law School Admission Council (LSAC).
  15. Waive mandatory medical insurance, if applicable. Visit bc.edu/myservices and select "Medical Insurance Waiver" under the "Account and Personal Info" section. Information regarding the 2023–2024 plan summary, including costs, is available on the Medical Insurance web page.

  26. AccessLex MAX 1L Course Financial Foundations (optional)
    BC Law has partnered with AccessLex Institute, a nonprofit dedicated to legal education, to bring you MAX by AccessLex®, the free personal finance program designed exclusively for law students. Learn personal finance lessons, resources, and tools that fit your busy schedule. You may also schedule free one-on-one financial coaching with Accredited Financial Counselors (AFC®) and enter the annual MAX scholarship drawings of more than $300,000 by completing courses and attending live events.   27. Incoming Students Community Directory
    Each year, the Office of Marketing & Communications produces a small print booklet affectionately known as the "facebook" or Community Directory. It includes the names and photos of the faculty and administration, as well as incoming student names, photos, home states and undergraduate institutions. The book is distributed to faculty, staff, and incoming students only, and is used as a tool for people to get to know each other. All incoming students are asked to submit a "head and shoulders" shot in JPG format (300 dpi or large resolution). Email your photo to lawevent@bc.edu and type "Incoming Student Photo" in the subject line. Please note: this photo is a separate request from the BC Eagle One ID card and is not shared with the University for ID purposes. You must submit a separate photo for your BC Eagle One ID card.
