Connecting to WiFi (or Wired) @ BC

computers, smartphones, tablets, and game consoles

WiFi @ BC is available in residence halls and campus buildings. Most conference rooms, classrooms, and labs have an Ethernet network jack, as well as some residence hall rooms.

Faculty, Staff & Students

You will need your BC username and password. If you don’t know your username, contact Student Services at (617) 552-3300. If you don’t know your password, you can reset it through Agora Portal at

To connect most computers, smartphones, and tablets to WiFi (or wired) at BC:
  1. Wireless: Connect to the "eduroam" wireless network.

    Wired: (a) Disable the wireless connection to ensure you are configuring your computer's wired connection. (b) Using an Ethernet cable, connect your computer to the network wall jack. (c) Mac Ethernet settings: Open System Preferences > Network. From the Configure drop-down list, select "Using DHCP" and in the Search Domains box, type:

    • (don't forget the
    • BC Password (same as used for Agora Portal)

       You will only need to authenticate once, until you change your BC Password.

  3. Select “I Agree,” “Continue,” or "Connect" if you receive any certificate messages. 
    • Mac: If prompted, enter your Mac administrative username and password (the password you use to log in to your computer).

  4. If you plan on using both the wireless and wired connection, complete steps 1-3 for each. Be sure to turn off wireless before trying to setup a wired connection.

Androids & Chromebooks
  1. Select "eduroam" from the list of available wireless networks.
  2. Enter the following information, if prompted. NOTE: Not all Android devices require the same information.
    • EAP method: PEAP
    • Phase 2 Authentication: MSCHAPV2
    • CA certificate: "Do not validate" or "Do not specify" or "Do not check" (checking should be off)
    • User certificate: 'Unspecified'
    • Identity: 
    • Password: BC Password (same as used for Agora Portal)
    • Anonymous Identity: Leave blank
  3. Accept the certificate, if prompted.

Guests from Other Eduroam Institutions

Guests from participating eduroam institutions can connect to BC's eduroam using their home institution’s credentials. Make sure your laptop and other devices are configured for eduroam before you arrive on campus. 


Visitors must register in order to connect to WiFi at BC. All visitor access ends after 24 hours. To regain access to WiFi, each day you must repeat the steps below.

  1. Connect to the “BostonCollege” wireless network.
  2. Go to and select “Guest Registration.”
  3. Complete the registration form.
  • You will receive a confirmation email and/or text with your login credentials. You can use these same credentials to connect other devices to the "BostonCollege" network.

WARNING: "eduroam" and "BostonCollege" are the only official BC wireless networks. Do NOT connect to any other wireless network listed!
