Undergraduate Research

The Department of Physics strongly encourages physics majors to engage in research, and we will make every effort to find a suitable research opportunity for all interested students with our faculty members. These are paid positions and are available through the Fall, Spring, and Summer seasons to students who are at least in their Sophomore year. Please visit the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences for further information regarding the Undergraduate Research Fellowship Program and eligibility requirements.

On the physics website you will find information describing our faculty and research groups. This will allow you to begin to identify your interests. We strongly advise you to contact a number of professors to discuss potential research opportunities. Ideally, you will find an environment that will be a good match for your interests, your passion, and your personality. You should never hesitate to contact a professor whose research looks particularly interesting to you.
