Sports Analytics

Graduate Certificate

The Graduate Certificate in Sports Analytics is designed to prepare students to carry out sophisticated data analytics in the sports industry. It provides context of sports and training in methods of data analysis including data organization, visualization, hypothesis testing, and multivariate approaches for examination of relationships between variables as well as for predictions. Students will learn how to frame problems in sports, collect and analyze data, and communicate results to a lay audience. A choice of an elective allows students to focus on a particular area, including Marketing/Sales, Operations, or Sports Management.

The certificate can be a stand-alone credential or can be awarded together with M.S. in Applied Economics (MSAE) and/or M.S. in Sports Administration (MSSA).  For students in one of the programs, the Graduate Certificate in Sports Analytics will provide more rounding, whether in a sports context for MSAE students or data analytics for MSSA students.
