Overview

Lunch & Learn Wellbeing Seminars will cover topics such as nutrition, fitness, and resilience and will include a healthy lunch. Registration is required for all seminars.

Programs are listed in chronological order.

For your benefit, all programs have been scheduled from noon to 1:30 pm to allow for questions and interaction after each presentation which typically conclude at 1:00 pm.  Therefore, those who may have to return to their offices by 1:00 pm are welcome to attend.

Acupuncture...A Demonstration

Acupuncture promotes and restores the balance of energy that flows throughout the body.  This treatment modality can reduce stress, aid in digestive issues, help treat insomnia and chronic pain along with a wide variety of other conditions.  In this session, participants will learn about practical applications, treatment expectations, and common uses of Acupuncture.  You will view a demonstration and be able to ask questions of an experienced Acupuncture clinician.

Caregiving 101

Caregiving for elderly parents or relatives is an extremely stressful task – mentally, physically and emotionally. Caregivers are generally ‘on call’ 24/7, with very little help from other family members. Care giving, as many caregivers find out, can be a physically and emotionally demanding, draining and frustrating task that may take its toll on health, spirit and psyche. This seminar will focus on taking care of the caretaker and what individuals can do to help themselves through the difficult ups and downs of caring for others.

Aromatherapy, or essential oils therapy, is using a plant's aroma-producing oils (essential oils) to treat disease and lifestyle conditions. Essential oils are natural, taken from a plant's flowers, leaves, stalks, bark, rind, or roots and can be utilized in a variety of ways. In this interactive session, participants will learn how various types of essential oils can be used for stress relief, immune system strengthening, pain alleviation, as sleep aids, and much, much more. Participants will create and keep their own personal pocket-sized unit and sample the benefits for themselves!

Blending for Health: A Cooking Demonstration

Blending and Juicing...what's the best choice? Both blending and juicing your fruits and vegetables are hot topics right now. Are you wondering which combinations of fruits and vegetables work best? What you should avoid? How often should you have one of these drinks?  What about fruit...can it cause you to gain weight? We will cover all of these topics and more. Plus, there will be a few yummy concoctions to taste and recipes for you to try at home.
