Peer Advisor

Biography

Layla is an International Studies major at Boston College, concentrating in Political Economy and Development Studies, with a minor in Finance. She has citizenship in both the US and Ghana, where she has spent time getting involved with the Heritage and Cultural Society of Africa (HACSA Foundation) and the Ghana Tennis Federation’s Wheelchair Tennis Team. Before college, Layla studied Mandarin Chinese and Chinese culture for five years. At BC, she shifted her focus to Italian language and culture, which she further explored during a semester abroad in Venice in Fall 2024. While in Italy, she also pursued coursework in globalization and migration, engaging with global issues from a new cultural perspective.

On campus, Layla serves as Treasurer of the International Studies Student Association and is a General Member of the Investment Club. She has also been involved with the BC Career Center’s Endeavor Career Exploration Program for two years, both as a mentee and a mentor. This year, she is excited to begin her role as an IS Peer Advisor and is especially looking forward to supporting fellow students and building new connections within the IS community!
