Coming from the small town of Moraga in the Bay Area, CA, Daniel Berkes is an International Studies major with a concentration in Ethics and Social Justice as well as a Spanish minor. Daniel hopes to synthesize the skills learned through his studies to enter the field of immigration law. After spending 4 years living with Venezuelan immigrants, he has sought service and learning opportunities throughout the United States and South America, and will be studying abroad in Argentina in the Spring of 2026. During the summer of 2025, under the Eagle Intern Fellowship grant, Daniel interned with the Kino Border Initiative in Nogales, Mexico, providing humanitarian and legal aid to immigrants crossing the border.
On campus, Daniel is a member of the Executive Council for the Boston College "Screaming Eagles" Marching Band. He also has been involved in the Arrupe and Appa programs as well as serves on the Campus Ministry Retreats Council. As a McGillycuddy-Logue Fellow, Daniel is looking forward to studying and doing service abroad in Argentina in the Spring. He is very excited for his first year as an IS Peer Advisor, and is looking forward to being on campus for the Fall semester!
