Biography

Sophie Hoeltgen is a senior IS major specializing in Cooperation and Conflict Studies and minoring in French. She is from Barrington, IL, and has interned in Washington D.C. and Paris, France. Sophie was a member of the Boston College Women's Cross-Country and Track & Field team for three years. She was previously a research assistant for Professor Krause's Political Violence Project, a Student Assembly Representative in the Undergraduate Government of Boston College, and a political columnist for The Heights. She is currently the Director of Outreach for the Boston College Chapter of Alpha Sigma Nu Honor Society for Jesuit Colleges and Universities, and a member of the Government, Law, and Public Policy Student Advisory Board at the Career Center. Sophie spent the summer of 2022 interning for an anti-human trafficking NGO in Paris. She is particularly interested in U.S. government and international politics and hopes to work for the United States Department of State in the future.
