How we keep campers safe
Your camper's safety and well-being come first. Here's what that looks like every day.
-
Ages 7–12
Campers must be between 7 and 12 years old on their first day of camp, so activities fit every camper in the group.
-
Licensed camp
Eagles Rec Camp follows Massachusetts Department of Public Health regulations and is licensed by the local Board of Health.
-
Trained staff
Every staff member is trained in First Aid, CPR and AED through the American Red Cross, and takes part in ongoing training on camp safety.
-
Background checks
Every staff member passes a background check and provides positive references before joining the team.
-
Supervision
We keep staff-to-camper ratios low so every camper gets attention.
-
Lifeguarded pool
All pool time is supervised by certified lifeguards.
-
Safe pick-up
Campers are checked in and out at the camp door, and only to an adult listed on their pick-up form.
-
Health forms
Health forms are due four weeks before your camper's first session. Campers without up-to-date forms can't attend. Health forms and medical information
Meet the staff
Our counselors are mentors as much as supervisors: they play alongside campers and make sure every child feels welcome.
- Many are Boston College students with backgrounds in education, child development and youth programs.
- They bring experience from camp counseling, childcare and other youth organizations.
- All staff are at least 18 years old or high school graduates.
- A Camp Director oversees all camp operations, supported by Assistant Directors who run daily activities and staff.
Our lifeguards are certified in Lifeguarding/First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.
