WCAS Dean Fr. James Burns had a fruitful and busy trip to Rome earlier this semester as he represented Woods in several capacities.

He served as a consultant liaison for the University of Birmingham's Jubilee Center for Character and Virtue Conference, which included participating in sessions on the topics of character and virtue. At the conference he was a guest of Dr. James Arthur, who will speak at Boston College as part of our Conference on Ethics in April.

He also met with Cardinal Perolin, Secretary of State of the Vatican, for a demonstration related to the massacre of Christians in the Middle East.  The Colosseum was turned red in remembrance of the massacre.

The visit was also meant to further discussions with the Pontifical Lateran University for ongoing collaborations with our Latin American Sisters Initiative and the new M.S. in Applied Leadership Studies

Additionally, Fr. Burns was able to speak with the Jesuit-run Gregorian University to consult on the creation of a new leadership degree they hope to offer in collaboration with the Woods College.
