Originally from Potomac, Maryland, Caitlin Murphy is a senior majoring in International Studies, with a concentration in Political Economy and Development Studies, and Psychology on the Pre-Law track. Her academic interests center on global energy policy, international security, and economic development. She studied abroad in London through the Boston University London Internship Program, where she completed coursework in international relations while interning with the Walkabout Foundation, a nonprofit focused on improving mobility and access to education in developing countries. Caitlin has gained experience across the energy and policy sectors through internships with the Nuclear Energy Institute and The Nuclear Company. She has also spent five semesters working with Professor Peter Krause’s Political Violence Project as both a Research Assistant and an Undergraduate Research Fellow.

On campus, Caitlin serves as President of Uprising Dance Crew, a Teaching Assistant for the Justice and the Common Good Living Learning Community, and a Tour Guide and Panelist with the Student Admissions Program. She is also a member of the Bellarmine Pre-Law Society. Through her academic and extracurricular experiences, Caitlin has developed a passion for connecting international affairs with practical policy challenges. She is excited to serve as an IS Peer Advisor and looks forward to helping students navigate the major, study abroad opportunities, internships, and life at BC.
