Ben is a senior from Southold, New York. He is an International Studies major with a minor in Faith, Peace and Justice. Ben received the Sophomore Scholar and Dean’s Scholar awards. He is also a member of the Alpha Sigma Nu Jesuit Honor Society and the Theta Alpha Kappa Religious Studies Honor Society. Last spring, Ben studied abroad at the European Center for the Study of War and Peace in Zagreb, Croatia. Inspired by this experience, he is writing his senior thesis on peacebuilding in the Balkans. Ben plans to attend law school after his time as an undergraduate at Boston College. Ben is the President of the International Studies Student Association. He also served for four semesters on The Political Violence Project research team under Prof. Peter Krause. Ben was an Appa Volunteer during his freshman year and attended a service trip to Detroit, MI. During his summers, Ben is a beach lifeguard and a tow boat captain on Long Island. Through these experiences, he has developed an interest in maritime law and security.
