Alex Zelaya is a senior majoring in International Studies with a concentration in Cooperation and Conflict. He is from Wallingford, Connecticut. In Summer 2022, he worked as an Undergraduate Admissions Representative in the BC Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Following that summer, he interned at a Fortune 500 insurance company as a Business Operations intern. In the Summer 2024, he will be at a Fortune 500 manufacturing firm as a Corporate Development and M&A intern. On campus, Alex has been involved in multiple mentorship programs, such as the Freshman League and Stride Leadership Program. In his junior spring, Alex studied abroad in Bilbao, Spain at the Universidad de Deusto. While there, he took courses in international relations and spent large amounts of time volunteering with the Jesuit Refugee Services, teaching Spanish classes to Moroccan refugees. When he returns to BC in the Fall, he will continue to be involved with his work-study in BC Information Technology and hopefully continue his volunteer work he began in Spain. He is interested in exploring the intersection of law, economics, and U.S. foreign policy.
