Biography

My current research involves investigating the infrared properties of Galactic and extragalactic evolved stars and star forming regions, improving the photometric and spectroscopic quality of stellar spectra for observational calibration standards, and observing and characterizing artificial and natural space objects such as satellites and debris. I have more than 20 years of observing and data analysis experience with ground- and space-based optical, infrared, and radio telescopes, with over 60 articles in refereed journals. I teach astronomy to 4th graders once a month at a local elementary school with the Project Astro program and participate in BC's Read-Aloud program. I mentor undergraduate student researchers and have taught introductory astronomy courses for non-majors.
