Biography
Nicholas Michalczyk is an MA student in philosophy at Boston College. He received his undergraduate degree in physics from the Catholic University of America. There, he also studied for a philosophy minor, largely focusing on ancient and medieval thinkers. His main research goal is to better understand the development of science across history through examining various approaches to scientific demonstration, including the ways in which different thinkers have established criteria for rational explanations of phenomena, as well as narratives surrounding the purpose of studying the natural world. He is especially interested in the role played by Aristotelian and Platonic texts in the evolution of medieval natural philosophy during the era spanning from Plotinus to the Early Modern Period.
