Biography
Alex Puente specializes in Asian and Asian American literature, particularly in Philippine literature in English and Filipino American literature. His other interests include US multi-ethnic literature, late 19th century American literature, postcolonialism, creative nonfiction, and graphic narratives.
Alex teaches the First-Year Writing Seminar and Literature Core (regular and ELL sections); Courage to Know; American Literary History II (1865-1910); American Literary History III (1914-2000); The Graphic Novel and Marginality; and Asian American Literature: Immigration, Exclusion, and Engagement.
