PSYC4438 Genetics of Brain Diseases
I am an MD neurologist and biomedical researcher. I spent 15 years on the faculty of Neurology at Washington University Medical School and 17 years as Director of the Neuroscience Center at the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Medicine.
My research focused on roles the neurotrophin family of growth factors and their signaling mediators in neural development. My laboratory was continuously funded by the NIH for more than 30 years.
At BC I will teach PSYC4438 Genetics of Brain Diseases. The course will present the exciting new research into the causes and treatments of the major neurological and psychiatric diseases.
