Alberto Ares, S.J., STL ’08, has been named the new Director of Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) for all Europe. He will begin his new position in September 2021.
Alex Gruber, MTS ’20, wrote a piece for America magazine on watching the trial of Derek Chauvin during Holy Week as well as a piece titled “When I came out as a gay Catholic, Saints Augustine and Monica helped me grow closer to my mom—and God” published in America on May 7, 2021.
Matt Janeczko, M.Div./STL ’14, was featured in this article on homelessness and the need for adequate housing in America magazine in April. Janeczko is currently serving as executive director and CEO of the Sisters of Charity Housing Development Corporation in Yonkers, NY.
