Neuroscience Education in Theological Training

Neuroscience Education in Theological Training

Project Summary

The aims of this project are to foster dialogue between religion and science at STM, and thus enhance the intellectual growth and ministerial effectiveness of our students.

Approach

We achieved these aims in three ways:

[1] by revising five core courses, which reached over 85 STM students, to include substantial, new sections on science;

[2] sponsoring student centered activities, such as an essay competition and a book club, on the integration of ministerial theology and science; and,

[3] holding an on-campus talk on neurospirituality by a Harvard Medical School neurologist.
