Megan Lease

Biography

Megan's research focuses on nineteenth-century British literature, with a particular concentration on the intersection of religion and literature. She is especially interested in discussions concerning the ways in which literature shaped nineteenth-century religious discourse and the religious identities and hermeneutics of its readers, as well as the way in which readers' religious identities concurrently influenced their approaches to literature. She has published book reviews in Religion and Literature and Religion and the Arts.

Megan has taught courses in BC's First-Year Writing Seminar and Literature Core programs related to the themes of education and internal conflict, as well as an English elective, "Making Meaning in Victorian Literature and Culture." She has served as a director of the Pedagogy Seminar and assists with the organization of the English department's Religion and Literature Collaborative. She also works as the Graduate Programs Coordinator at BC's Center for Teaching Excellence.

During her undergraduate career at Southeastern University, Megan focused her interdisciplinary studies degree in the areas of English and theology. She received her M.A. in English from Boston College.
