Laimir Fano is a filmmaker and researcher whose work explores the performance of national identity and cultural memory through narrative form. His films have been exhibited at venues and festivals such as Tribeca Film Festival (US), Shanghai International Film Festival (China), Cartagena de Indias International Film Festival (Colombia), Huesca Film Festival (Spain), the Institute of International Visual Arts (UK), Anthology Film Archives (US), Kustendorf Film & Music Festival (Serbia), Ícaro Film Festival (Guatemala), Vieques International Film Festival (Puerto Rico), and Havana Film Festival (Cuba). Fano is currently developing a film project that examines the impersonation of historical characters in the context of Cuba and its diasporic communities.
