The Carroll School of Management is set to launch an annual print publication geared to alumni, parents, students, and others. Adopting the name Carroll Capital, the new publication will throw light on trends in business and society while telling stories about alumni and students as well as faculty and school initiatives.

“This is an exciting new direction for our communications outreach,” said John and Linda Powers Family Dean Andy Boynton. “The print publication will add an important channel to our current digital offerings, allowing us to go deeper into the life of our extended Carroll School community and the many great stories waiting to be told.”

Feature stories in the inaugural edition will include:

● An essay by Boynton that raises the provocative question of whether management is a liberal art. The essay looks at how a liberal arts perspective has empowered some of the greatest minds of industry, and how Carroll School students are embracing the idea—now taking more arts and sciences than strictly management courses.

● The story of first-generation students at the Carroll School finding community—and themselves—as they navigate their way through the college experience.

● A profile of Nick Scandalios '87, who traces his path from getting a finance degree to working with some of the biggest stars on Broadway, all by trusting his instincts.

In addition, the first edition of Carroll Capital will include articles about recent graduates adapting to the brave new world of hybrid work; alumni in real estate helping to solve the affordable housing crisis; and student entrepreneurs accelerating on campus; along with expert advice on volunteering strategically in ways that boost your career and express your values, and many other stories.

The 48-page edition will begin arriving in mailboxes in late June.
