Profile

Sam Hay is an accomplished educator and researcher with extensive experience in developmental and educational psychology. As an advisor for school-aged research, evidence, and learning at Save the Children, Dr. Hay leads research design, analysis, and data use to strengthen programs in school-aged learning, wellbeing, and protection. He provides technical assistance on research, evaluation, and measurement across education, child protection, and cross-sectoral initiatives, ensuring high-quality evidence to drive program impact and advocacy. His work includes developing strategic partnerships and contributing to proposal development to position Save the Children as a thought leader in education and child protection. 

Dr. Hay has taught various psychology and research methods courses at Boston College. Previously, he served as the Associate Director of Undergraduate Programs at Woods College. Dr. Hay holds a Ph.D. in Applied Developmental and Educational Psychology from the Lynch School of Education and Human Development and a Masters of Theology and Ministry from the School of Theology and Ministry at Boston College.
