Matthew Mersky

Biography

Matthew Allen Mersky is a third year PhD student. His work concerns the intersection of theory and aesthetics, particularly in the context of modernism and 20th century literature. He is interested, for example, in exploring how the paradigm of psychoanalysis altered the way we relate to art and its objects. He is also interested in using different aesthetic or theoretical approaches to examine global warming and its consequences—political and otherwise.
