WIN helps nurses sustain long-term well-being through self-care, professional development, meaningful relationships with other nurses and values-based ways to sustain longevity in the field of nursing. The WIN Program is funded in part through the Tapley Fund for Resilience and Mentorship in Nursing.

Our Programs
The WIN program hosts regular personal growth and professional education programming. Nurses and nurse practitioners are eligible to receive ANCC Contact Hours for attendance. Join us for any of the following events or complete a series of four events to receive a WIN Ambassador Certificate.
Tapley Wellness in Nursing (WIN) Retreat
Date and Time: Saturday, October 3rd from 10am to 4pm

Description: Join us for our second annual retreat open to nurses at all levels and in all areas of practice! This all-day, in-person retreat is a chance to connect with yourself and other nurses. We’ll talk about how to utilize mindfulness, compassion and other reflective practices for personal and professional growth. We’ll provide yoga mats, a light breakfast, tea/coffee and hearty lunch. Please dress comfortably and bring anything that will help you *breathe* and be in the moment (such as a blanket, cozy socks or yoga blocks)!
Note that attendees are eligible for 5 ANCC Contact Hours.

Tapley WIN Talks: “Flourishing in Your Career” with Bryce Fuemmeler

WIN “Caring for the Caregiver” Professional Reflection Workshop

Description: Join us for an evening of professional reflection and connection. Through writing, guided discussion and open conversation, we’ll process and explore the rewards and challenges of working in healthcare, touching on topics like secondary trauma, resilience and finding meaning and purpose in our work. This event is open nurses at all levels and in all areas of practice.

WIN Ayurveda Workshop with Down Under School of Yoga
Date and Time: Thursday, March 11th from 4-7pm

Description: Join us to explore the intersections of Ayurveda and nursing practice. Discover your Dosha, three interacting mind-body energies, and how various foods and practices can help you maintain balance. Learn about foods and supplements and how they can help with things like digestion, detoxification, concentration and more! This event is open to nurses at all levels and in all areas of practice.

WIN Ambassadors have attended an all-day retreat, at least 2 professional development events and a personal and professional reflection event. Note that for the WIN Ambassador Certificate, nurses may attend events sequentially over the course of one year or mix-and-match over multiple years.
The WIN program is pleased to offer eligible nurses the opportunity to apply for the WIN Program Clinical Nursing Education Certification (CNE-cl) Grant.
The National League for Nursing (NLN) Certified Academic Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE-cl) credential is intended for BS-prepared registered nurses who wish to teach clinical courses in academic nursing programs. Nurses who earn this certification demonstrate excellence in clinical nursing education and are recognized as qualified to educate and mentor future nurses in clinical settings.
Grant Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and have at least 3 years of RN clinical experience.
- Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in nursing education, such as serving as a preceptor, clinical instructor, or nurse residency program mentor.
- Commit to completing a self-guided, virtual 6-hour CNE-cl review course within the next 6 months.
- Commit to taking the CNE-cl certification examination within the next 6 months.
The Grant Covers:
- Registration for the 6-hour CNE-cl review course
- Course materials
- CNE-cl certification examination fee
We encourage eligible nurses who are interested in advancing their careers as clinical educators to apply for this exciting professional development opportunity. Your expertise and commitment to educating the next generation of nurses are invaluable to the future of our profession.
The WIN program hosts semesterly "Tea and Talk" peer mentorship groups. This welcoming community is open to all nurses and nurse practitioners, including nurse educators, nurse researchers and nurses in clinical practice.
