Profile

I am a doctoral candidate in philosophy and have taught at Boston College since 2017. I specialize in early 20th-century phenomenology, as well as medieval philosophy of knowledge and the history of philosophy. My dissertation, "Spirit, Expression, and Community in the Philosophy of Edith Stein," draws on Edith Stein's writings in order to examine how we form community through the expression of shared value and meaning. As an instructor, in introducing my students to the enduring questions that have emerged throughout the history of philosophy, my aim is to encourage them to identify and pursue their own questions about human experience, and to explore these questions in relation to the texts we read.
