Arturo is a doctoral student in comparative theology, with a focus on Hindu-Christian comparative theology and systematic theology. His academic pursuits are driven by questions about human nature, creation, and the possibility of forgiveness and reconciliation amid violence and human conflict.

His current research explores Hindu and Christian accounts of human conflict and spiritual development, with particular attention to how thinkers such as Sri Aurobindo, Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, and Vladimir Solovyov understand humanity’s movement toward divine fulfillment. Through comparative theology, his work seeks to develop a redemptive account of human nature that draws on theological, interreligious, and scientific perspectives.

Originally from Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, his experiences growing up in a city shaped by violence continue to inform his theological interest in the goodness of creation and the dignity of the human person. Outside of academics, he enjoys spending time in nature, playing soccer, and spending time with his wife, Katrine, with whom he enjoys sharing everyday life as well as conversations about theology.
