Anna Wera Wilms is a doctoral candidate in Systematic Theology. Her primary research interest is in theological method, that is, how to theologise in today's pluralistic societies, academy, and Church. She draws on philosophical hermeneutics, particularly Hans-Georg Gadamer, to articulate the encounter with God revealing Godself philosophically.

Wera previously earned an Master in Philosophy in Modern Doctrine (2025) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Theology and Religion (2023) from the University of Oxford, as well as a Master of Arts in European Affairs (2022) and a Bachelor in Political Humanities (2020) from Sciences Po in Paris.

Born and raised in Berlin, Wera has worked in Brussels advocating for migrants' rights within the EU with the International Catholic Migration Commission, held research assistantships at the Oxford-based Laudato Si’ Research Institute, and, most recently, interned with the Holy See’s Permanent Observer Mission to the United Nations in New York.

Her scholarly interests besides epistemic pluralism and contextual theologising include synodality, intersections of ecclesial and democratic life, Catholic Social Teaching, integral ecology, and the theological turn in French phenomenology.
