Dimitri Daskalopoulos is a Ph.D. student in the Philosophy Department at Boston College. His primary research interest is in ancient philosophy. His research focuses on Plato, with particular emphasis on the late dialogues Sophist, Statesman, and Philebus. He is interested in the development of Plato's metaphysics from the middle to the late dialogues, where Plato pays particular attention to kinds and their structure through the methods of division and collection. As a secondary area of research, Dimitri is exploring twentieth-century philosophy, particularly Heidegger's reception of ancient philosophy and, more recently, what a phenomenological investigation of language and human moods can reveal about literature's role in intersubjective experience.
