John Mark Brigham

Postdoctoral Researcher

Profile

I am a field-based petrologist and geochemist interested in how metamorphic and igneous processes can provide details about the tectonic evolution of mountain belts and how petrology can be used to inform the public about geologic hazards and natural resources. I am also passionate about teaching and inspiring the next generation of geoscientists. At Boston College, I am using garnet geochronology to constrain the timing of high-pressure metamorphism during the Taconic Orogeny in rocks from the northern Appalachian Mountains.
