Thalia Chaves is a first generation, pre-law senior IS major with a concentration in Political Economy and Development Studies, and a minor in Managing for Social Impact. She is from Saugus, Massachusetts. Thalia interned in Dublin for a nonprofit amidst the peak of the Ukrainian refugee and Irish housing crises, securing multi-sector advocacy for better refugee practices in Ireland. She also interned at a congressional office and a law firm. She currently serves as the assistant director of the sustainability division of UGBC, student board member of the Schiller institute, and director of community outreach for a suicide prevention nonprofit. She formerly served as the vice president of events for The Women’s Network, and is happy to discuss club involvement and leadership on campus. Thalia represented Boston College at the UN Convention on Climate Change in Egypt last year and is passionate about sustainable development.
