Biography

Sophie Borrmann is a senior IS major concentrating in Ethics and Social Justice, minoring in Global Public Health and French. Sophie grew up bi-lingual in German due to a German father, and has taken French since high school. In the summer of 2022 she attended Middlebury Language schools thanks to an Advanced Research Grant from BC to be fully immersed in French before going abroad. She spent the spring semester of 2023 studying abroad in Paris, France at Sciences Po. The summer after she spent working at a champagne house in the champagne region of France to continue to practice her French and learn about the wine culture. Sophie is the Editor in Chief of Gusto Magazine, and has been the creative director since her junior year. She is also the chair of the activism committee for Eco-Pledge, BC's largest sustainability club. In addition, Sophie has been a mentor for Learning to Serve since her sophomore year and is excited to be back in Boston to continue to volunteer and work with the community!
