My current research lies at the intersection of phenomenology, philosophy of mind, and psychiatry. My dissertation examines whether phenomenological psychopathology can provide a qualitative account of the distinction between normal and pathological experience that complements the quantitative-dimensional frameworks currently dominant in psychiatric research, such as the Research Domain Criteria (RDoC) and its underlying neuroscientific theory. Drawing on the work of Husserl, Merleau-Ponty, Fuchs, Ratcliffe, and others, I develop a phenomenological philosophy of mind and demonstrate its explanatory power through sustained engagements with central aspects of depression such as depressive mood, anhedonia, rumination. I am broadly interested in embodiment, affectivity, and the philosophical foundations of clinical practice
