Why á la carte?
- It's your money for 32 weeks: Your balance remains the same after breaks or time away.
- No need to track swipes: Meal plan money rolls over from first to second semester, and Flex Bucks roll over to the next year.
- Extended hours: Our dining halls aren't just open around meal time. You can enjoy extended hours through late night at two locations.
- Unlimited guest meals: You can buy meals for visiting friends, siblings, or parents.
- Food to go: You have the flexibility to take your meals to go. All meals are available for take out.
- Collaborative space: There's no need to swipe to gain access. You can always access the dining halls during open hours to study, meet with friends, or work collaboratively.
Operating Costs Breakdown
Over the past few years, there's been a historic rise in food costs, due to supply chain ripple effects, paper costs, and the rise in hospitality wages post-pandemic.
BC Dining strives to achieve a break-even bottom line. We don't receive any money from tuition and we are responsible for rent, utilities, food labor, and benefit costs. Of 15,000 people on-campus, 5,200 are on a required meal plan, while 6,000 others choose to be.
