Writing Tutor

The Connors Family Learning Center is hiring Writing tutors with prior experience to join our peer tutoring staff. Our center tutors over 60 subjects including writing.   Writing tutors work with students across the university’s various colleges and departments.  As a peer tutoring center, we work with our tutors’ busy class schedule.  We are open 6 days a week with hours available everyday except Saturdays.

The responsibility of a writing tutor is to help students become better writers.  The tutor helps the student find their own voice, and engage in the writing process.  Tutors work with students at all stages of the writing process from helping them clarify the essay prompt, going over rough drafts or brainstorming.   The tutor helps with suggestions for clarity and organization, not editing.

If interested, please fill out the tutor application on the CFLC website and send a resume with expression of interest to Dr. Cecilie Joyner at
