You don't have to be a varsity athlete to play sports at Boston College. Our selection of Intramurals and Club Sports makes it easy to get involved in the sport or activity you love, at whatever level of competition you're comfortable with.

Intramurals

The leagues, tournaments, and events put on by the Intramurals program are meant to be a fun, healthy outlet for anyone to participate in.

Club Sports

The Club Sports program is committed to the formation of the whole person—intellectually, physically, socially, and spiritually.

What is the difference?

Intramural Sports are competitive sports played at Boston College among other BC students. There are four phases, or seasons, each lasting 3-6 weeks. Games are held on campus and no travel or practice is required. Club Sports teams play other colleges and universities, but are not part of the NCAA or ACC. The teams are supported by the department of Campus Recreation and request funding from the Club Sport Council Executive Board.
