Anna Wera Wilms is a doctoral candidate in Systematic Theology. Her primary research interest is theological method, as she tries to articulate the encounter with God revealing Godself with the help of philosophical hermeneutics.
Wera previously earned an Master in Philosophy in Modern Doctrine (2025) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Theology and Religion (2023) from the University of Oxford, as well as a Master of Arts in European Affairs (2022) and a Bachelor in Political Humanities (2020) from Sciences Po in Paris.
Born and raised in Berlin, Wera has worked for the International Catholic Migration Commission’s Brussels-based EU bureau, the Oxford based Laudato Si’ Research Institute, and most recently interned with the Holy See’s Permanent Observer Mission to the United Nations in New York.
Her broader scholarly interests include epistemic plurality, contextual theologising, synodality, intersections of ecclesial and democratic life, Catholic Social Teaching, integral ecology, and the theological turn in French phenomenology.
